Handbook

District Delegate

You document what one school district reports about financial education before ninth grade.

Last reviewed: 2026-10-16

Who can be one

Anyone 13 or older, or a parent or teacher sponsoring a younger person. Anyone under 16 takes part with a sponsor. See youth safety.

The work

This handbook describes how the role is meant to work. The tools it mentions (a way to claim a district, a request kit and a follow-up log) are not available yet, and no delegates are confirmed. See what is available today.

  1. Read what your state’s law says on the States page.
  2. Take one district. A district has a single delegate.
  3. File the records request for your district.
  4. Log each follow-up and each reply: the type, the date, the method, and a short note with no personal data.

Staying active

You are active if you have at least one verified action in the last 30 days. A verified action is checked against what you submitted. When a state has 3 or more active delegates, a State Director is appointed.

What to keep out of the record

Never include a student’s name or records, or anyone’s personal information, in a request, a log or a message. Follow the code of conduct.

Leaving

You can stop at any time and ask for your data to be deleted. See data and privacy.
